Okay, I don’t really know who to talk to about this or what to do so I’m posting it here. It’s complicated so please try to keep up because I really need help…so here goes…
A while ago my life was pretty much perfect. I was happy, more than happy and I really never thought my life was going to be anyway different in the future. I was in a way the school It-Girl; I always had another guy hitting on me, I always was the first one invited to a party and I always had a group of people around me jostling for attention. My teachers said that my grades were good and if I kept them up Oxford or Cambridge was a definite and as my mother’s an ex model (not really well known though, you won’t have heard of her) and my father’s a successful business man, I’ve never really had to want for anything in my life and as I said, I thought this was the way my life was simply going to be. My friends and I considered ourselves to be the girls out of some Channel 4 drama; you know, trendsetters not trend followers and a party’s not a party until we arrived.
Then I walked in on my mother sending an email but she wouldn’t let me read over her shoulder and ordered me out of the room. Then she later cam in to me and apologized saying she was just emailing a reunited friend. But my curiosity got the better of me and sat down and kept logging in to her account on my own laptop until I got the password right. What I read made me regret it. My mother was emailing our travel agent to say that we had to cancel our trip to New York as her husband; my father was recently diagnosed with a seemingly malignant brain tumour. I couldn’t believe it but later during dinner, when my parents said that they had cancelled our trip because the hotel that we’d always stayed in had overbooked and they had decided to cancel rather than go through the complicated scenario of sorting it out. I pretended that I believed and tried to continue as normal.
But my friends said that I looked paler was acting weirder, quieter and my favourite teachers took me aside to ask me what was wrong as my grades were slowly but surely slipping. I was lost. Then my parents finally confessed what I’d known just before my father went in to hospital. The wait was agonizing and somehow people at school had found out and during my father’s recovery I was ever surrounded by people who claimed to ‘want to cheer me up.’ Parties were thrown to try and ‘get me through it,’ but even though I thanked them and went to the parties it was really making it worse. But good news came; the tumour was successfully removed and had been benign after all. Soon my father was back on his feet and running the business again. I’ve never been so relieved.
But the niggling thought that my father could have died kept with me. My grades ascended again but I kept thinking to myself, life is too short; I need to do something quick. As I looked back at my past life I was rather disgusted. I’d been a popular clone, although I wasn’t platinum blonde I had been everything that now I regarded as silly and frivolous. I refused to go to parties and my friends started saying that I’d changed and they didn’t know me anymore. But I just wanted to shake off my former self, make me different if I could.
My grades started slipping again. I dumped my boyfriend of two years. I spent all day in my room and talking to people felt weird now. I’d always thought socializing was necessary but now I did everything to avoid it.
My friends started drifting away from me and my mother gave ma a ‘talk.’ She told me how I hadn’t been myself and I began to try and fit back into my old lifestyle. I was welcomed back with opened arms and it was like I’d never been away.
But I couldn’t forget.
Now I don’t know what to do…my life is a mess, I don’t know what my personality is, I don’t know what my style is, I truly don’t know who I am. Should I try to be the old me again or what should I do? Should I try and be another person or what should I do?
I’m clueless, please, please help me.

My son is gay, I found out he had me tell his mom she didn't take it well she lashed out personally attacked him and told him things that I found out about yesterday. We started therapy last week, but it didn't keep her from telling him that he is not allowed to see his boyfriend and is he did, she would send him our son far away. I told her that until she can stop attacking out son that it would be best if she stayed at a hotel, she left last night. Anyway I got a call today from her in tears bagging me to let her come home. I just don't know what to do? She says she is better but i don't believe her and I can't have her hurting our son like this.
